Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based study was undertaken to assess the archaeological impact of the proposed dualling of the A453 between Clifton, Nottinghamshire and the M1 in Leicestershire. The scheme was identified as a possible/probable threat to archaeological remains at nine sites, including: a scatter of Roman/Saxon pottery finds; a stretch of the projected route of a Roman road; various crop marks around Barton in Fabis; a crop mark enclosure; the site of a Roman villa at Glebe Farm; various crop marks of enclosures and other features on the north-eastern side of Mill Hill; and crop marks of a ring-ditch on the southern side of Brands Hill. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
