Abstract: |
The soil-stripping operation associated with the construction of a farm reservoir was monitored over a number of visits with the aim of recording any exposed archaeological deposits. A previously recognised medieval ditch, an undated ditch and a known water main were revealed. In addition many finds of Neolithic, Iron Age and medieval date were recovered from a layer between the topsoil and the naturally-occurring subsoil, along with a single sherd of Middle Saxon Ipswich Ware.
