Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment of the archaeological impact of the proposed construction of an extension to the Guildhall, a medieval building, highlighted a number of areas of archaeological concern. Areas which would be affected included a boundary wall, a collection of gravestones, stone coffins, stone architechtural fragments and tomb slabs, an area of burials, building vaults, the 'Constables Cottage' and buried medieval and Roman structures below the graveyard.
