Abstract: |
<summary2>An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of three houses. A small number of prehistoric finds had been recorded in the vicinity, and a substantial earthwork known as Grim's Dyke crossed the south-eastern end of the site. This was a Scheduled Ancient Monument (No 329), generally regarded as being of Iron Age date. The area of the Dyke itself was not threatened by the proposed construction. A single trench was excavated 20m to the north of the earthwork, and no material of archaeological significance was encountered. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea}{italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} GRE92 (Museum of London Site Code) |
