Abstract: |
<summary2>British Coal Corporation commissioned Warwickshire Museum to undertake an evaluation on land adjacent to Daw Mill Colliery, Over Whitacre, Warwickshire in July 1992, following submission of an application for permission to construct new settling ponds for mine surface drainage. The site lies in an area of archaeological sensitivity: two large Mesolithic flint scatters have been recorded nearby (WA3411 and WA4954). A total of 26 trial-trenches were opened and 75 litres of the sandy soil from each trench was sieved. No features of archaeological significance were identified in the trenches, and no finds were recovered. {italon}?Au/?Au(abr)/?Au(adp){italoff} |
