Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during machine stripping and trench excavation for the construction of taxi parking facilities. Neolithic finds and bronze age and iron age settlement evidence had been recorded in the vicinity, whilst cropmarks also indicated the presence of possible prehistoric features. During the watching brief, a ditch containing a piece of burnt flint was recorded; a gully contained late bronze age or early iron age pottery. A second ditch and a pit, both undated, were also observed. [AIP] |
