Abstract: |
A program of excavations and watching briefs were carried out over the area of the proposed quarry extension. Mesolithic flint tools were recovered. Late Neolithic pits, a post hole and alluvial deposits were recorded and flint tools were recovered. Bronze Age unstratified flint was recovered and a circular arrangement of gullies were identified. Two Early Bronze Age pits, Middle Bronze Age pits and a field system were also encountered and Late Bronze Age pottery was recovered. A single Roman post hole containing fired clay was identified. Post-medieval field boundaries and trenches were recorded. [Au(abr)] |
