Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks for a garage and hobbies room within the footprint of a former stables which had been relocated. The site lay within the area formerly occupied by a Cistercian Abbey; earthworks immediately to the south of the Old Farmhouse represented part of extensive remains relating to a village and to the monastery. During the watching brief, no archaeological deposits were recovered, although a small amount of 18th and 19th century pottery was recovered. [AIP] |
