Abstract: |
<summary>Desk-based assessment and a programme of fieldwalking were undertaken in connection with a proposed golf course development. The study shows the area to contain artefactual evidence from the Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age, Romano-British, Anglo-Saxon, Medieval and Post-Medieval periods, while the Iron Age may be represented by an oval enclosure. It was recommended that one site should be preserved {italon}in situ{italoff} and that another eight sites should be archaeologically evaluated. In addition, landscape features should be mapped and wherever possible integrated into the golf course design. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
