Abstract: |
Archaeological recording was undertaken as a result of trenching for a French drain around the church of All Saint's. No evidence for an earlier church structure was discovered. Possible evidence for a change to the pattern of the external buttresses was uncovered at the junction of the east wall of the chancel and the vestry. Footings for a former buttress on the south wall of the south aisle were also uncovered. The footings and other stonework observed in the drainage trench tended to confirm the accepted chronology of the construction and later restoration of the church. [Au] |
