Abstract: |
<summary>An evaluation was undertaken in connection with a proposed quarry extension. Known areas of interest included a medieval parish boundary, a peat deposit, undated and previously unrecorded earthworks. Buried soil was retrieved from the boundary bank, but the pollen was too poorly preserved to analyse. The peat deposit was sampled and 13 of the 16 samples were found to be suitable for further analysis; this would lead to a good pollen sequence. A trench was excavated across one of the undated earthworks; the results seemed to suggest that they were not archaeological features. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
