Abstract: |
A desk based study and impact assessment of the above schemes revealed that most of the components contain some archaeological potential. This represents all periods from the earliest prehistoric to the recent periods of military history and includes Walmer Castle Paddock, which contains extant earthwork remains of unknown date and function. Some areas of the scheme lie in areas of former quarries so the possibility exists that these lie on previously disturbed ground. The area also has high palaeoenvironmental potential. [Au(abr)] |
