Abstract:		 ,An archaeological evaluation across the site which was located on the west side of the new town laid out in 1196, was undertaken prior to the determination of planning permission. Five trial trenches were excavated which revealed a single post-medieval pit, containing residual 13th century pottery, and a post-medieval boundary. No evidence of medieval structures were recorded and much of the area had been disturbed by deep quarry pits during this century. [Au(adp)]
