Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during topsoil stripping and the excavation of foundation trenches prior to the construction of a house and garage, at a site which lay within the area of a Roman town. A medieval or post-medieval ditch and a Roman ditch containing sherds of Roman pottery were recorded. Two probable post-medieval quarry pits were also present. It was concluded that the development had not disturbed significant archaeological deposits. [AIP] |
