The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 A cultural heritage assessment and photographic record was undertaken where the demolition of the former Coliseum theatre and cinema was to provide a site for the construction of a residential complex. Other than the southern part of the assessment site, represented by an open yard between the Coliseum and Whitley House/Victoria Public House, there was no evidence for specific settlement or other activities within the area prior to the first half of the 19th century. Since no previous ground investigations had taken place, there was no indication whether or not remains of earlier activities were preserved on the site. Further archaeological evaluation was recommended. [Au(adp)]
