Abstract: |
A desk based assessment was undertaken on land at East Street, Tynemouth, now a car park. It was deduced from documentary sources that little of the area had escaped cellarage, but that which remained had the potential to produce evidence of medieval boundaries and perhaps settlement. The possibility of middens and early burials was also considered. Further work in the form of an archaeological evaluation was recommended. [AIP] |
