Abstract: |
The archaeological work was carried out in advance of the construction of a lean-to extension. Of particular note a large pit, over 5 metres in diameter was found, and was thought to be one of the original foundations for a standing stone, since removed for the construction of the village. A number of ancillary brick strucures were discovered. A Victorian cat burial, footings for a former boiler house, and an undated post hole beneath a post-medieval cobbled surface were also found.
