Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of five holes at a development site which lay adjacent to or within the Deserted Medieval Village of Bishton. Previous observations at the site had recorded silt deposits which may have derived from the decay of nearby medieval timber structures. During the watching brief, cinders and bricks relating to earlier farmyard surfaces were revealed, and modern drains were observed. No archaeological deposits predating the 19th/20th century were identified. [Au(abr)] |
