Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during topsoil stripping associated with the extension of Lound Quarry. The study area lay within an extensive area of archaeological remains, and adjacent cropmarks of rectilinear enclosures and field systems. Seventeen features were recorded along a 200 metre stretch of quarry face which suggested that the quarry had impinged on a focus of activity that was previously unrecorded. No dating evidence was recovered from any of the features. [Au(adp)] |
