Abstract: |
<summary>An evaluation on the proposed site of a housing development was undertaken, following a preliminary assessment. It was hoped that evidence would be found for the date, character and development of Higher Town, part of Buckfastleigh, as well as evidence relating to the construction of medieval and post-medieval buildings. No medieval material (other than a few residual sherds) was recovered, and the preservation of the deposits was generally poor, mainly due to heavy terracing and drain installation. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
