Abstract: |
In general the sequence observed in the pits excavated confirmed the broad phasing of an assessment undertaken in 1996. Structural evidence for a tennis court and the summerhouse/Fellows Gallery. Considerable evidence of nearby domestic activity in the 14th to 16th centuries was seen. There was evidence for gravel quarrying in the 14th/15th centuries, and that the area was close to domestic occupation in the pre-college period. An early wall could not be dated but could have been an early college or pre-college culvert taking rainwater to the King's Ditch. [Au(adp)] |
