Abstract: |
Investigations recorded a sequence of medieval, post-medieval and modern features. Medieval remains comprised part of a wall, dumps of burnt clay and ceramics. The latter probably represented waste associated with pottery production. A kiln stand was also found, enhancing the possibility that a kiln existed in proximity to the development. During the post-medieval period the site was virtually abandoned, except for the occasional dumping of structural debris and the cutting of refuse pits. [Au] |
