Abstract: |
The site was thought to have a low archaeological potential for the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods. It was likely that the site lay within a developed agricultural landscape during the later prehistoric periods. Traces of land division and agrarian practices may have occured along with activity and/or settlement sites. The site was thought to have a low potential for the Roman period. Although a Saxon or early medieval burial may have been recovered from the Sandy Lane barrow west of the study site, overall the archaeological potential of the study site for this period was low. In the medieval and post-medieval period until c.1850, the study site was located in pasture land. Although traces of land division and agrarian practices may have occured, overall the archaeological potential of the study site for these periods was low. [Au(adp)] |
