Abstract: |
The two trenches excavated accross Plymouth Leat revealed that it was well constructed in stone, and both narrower and deeper at this point than had been recorded elsewhere. It was likely that this was the result of building work associated with the construction of the reservoir. The construction of the reservoir in 1852 had truncated or removed any pre-existing archaeological deposits in the immediate environs.[Au(abr)] |
