Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a housing development. Two prehistoric flint spearheads had previously been found in the surrounding area. Excavations at a site 100m away had revealed a ditch containing medieval pottery. During the evaluation no archaeological features were encountered, although some 12th-13th century pottery was recovered. It was concluded that features were more likely to have survived on the northern part of the site, and that works in that area should be monitored by an archaeologist.[AIP] |
