Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of the B2006 Staplehurst Road Link. No records of archaeological sites were recorded along the line of the road scheme. However, four possible ring-ditches were recorded from aerial photographs taken in the early 20th century. Stray prehistoric pottery sherds had also been recovered in the vicinity of the site. The only archaeological remains encountered were retouched flint tools of probable Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date. [AIP] |
