Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was carried out at the Caledonia Works/Union Foundry, Mowbray Street, Sheffield. There was little evidence pre-dating 18th century in the surrounding area. There were no Scheduled Ancient Monuments, Listed buildings, Historic Battlefields or Registered Parks and Gardens in or around the site, which was however located within the City Centre Conservation Area. It was recommended that should planning permission be granted a condition relating to an investigation and recording of remains should be attached. [Au(adp)] |
