Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken prior to the proposed construction of 12 new private houses, with associated access roads and services, together with the retention of Astley House. The site was thought to have had a low archaeological potential for all past periods of human activity. Previous land use, particularly the initial construction and subsequent rebuilding of the engineering factory, was likely to have had a severe archaeological impact. Because of the sites low archaeological potential and the impact of the previous land use it was considered unlikely that the proposed development would have an archaeological impact. [Au(adp)] |
