Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment supported by preliminary field survey was undertaken for a site proposed for land reclamation works. The site contained structural remains associated with Seleggan Smelting Works, established in 1887 and operated until 1931. Of the many buildings and structures of which the works once comprised, only three chimneys, an enclosing wall and parts of a calciner remained as visible stuctures, although demolition debris was thought to have covered the foundations of the buildings in the western part of the site.
