Abstract: |
The assessment determined that important medieval and later deposits were likely to be affected by any sewerage works. In all the areas investigated important deposits had been located just below the present ground surface and in the High Street these included waterlogged organic remains. The High Street was an important routeway from at least the Anglo-Saxon period and Broad Street was the main market place of the medieval and later town. [Au(abr)] |
