Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, comprising the excavation of five trial trenches within the footprint of a proposed access road and bungalow, was carried out upon land west of Tempsford Hall. Four of the trenches contained archaeological features and deposits ranging in date from the Iron Age to late medieval period. All five trenches contained deposits associated with the landscaping of the park. Previous excavations within the moated site to the north and east of the study area recovered finds and features dating from the Iron Age to the early 16th century. [AIP] |
