Abstract: |
The survey successfully identified the limits of the refuse tip, along with the possible boundary that formed the limit of the landfill site. A number of anomolies of archaeological interest were also identified. These included part of an enclosure, a possible ring ditch and numerous pit type responses. A broad linear feature, potentially a Roman road, with possible evidence for industrial activity adjacent to it was also identified. However, given that the site area was used as a compound during the construction of the A419 road, it was more likely that these responses related to this modern disturbance.[Au(abr)] |
