Abstract:		 The watching brief uncovered two large parallel ditches orientated NE/SW. These were thought to have belonged to the defences of the Roman fort. The ditches were filled in by the 2nd century and the scarcity of the finds suggested that the site was not in a densely occupied part of the peninsula. [Au(abr)]
