Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of two shafts for foul drainage and drain runs at the site of 50 Cornhill. Two foundations for walls of the second Roman Basilica were revealed, together with associated construction levels and floors. In addition to the watching brief, further archaeological recording was undertaken on a fragment of the foundation of the southern sleeper wall of the basilica, which was preserved sub-basement. All Roman masonry remains were preserved in situ. [Au] |
