Abstract: |
Archaeological observations were made during the reflooring of the east end of the nave. The origins of the church were early medieval with alterations made in the 15th and 19th centuries. The base of the sub-floor void had been surfaced with mortar and rubble and nothing of earlier layers could be seen. A single brick vault, shaped to the coffins, was located south-west of the arcade pier. A second vault was also identified but infilled. [Au(adp)] |
