Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a site where a previous geophysical survey had revealed anomalies, in areas where potential archaeological features had been identified on aerial photographs. A ditch was revealed in the area of a circular cropmark. This contained a sherd of possible Beaker pottery, two further pot-sherds and several flint flakes. The remains of an Iron Age/Romano-British enclosure complex were also recorded. Pottery of these dates was recovered, whilst features included ditches, pits and post holes. The archaeological levels were found to have been truncated by ploughing. [AIP] |
