Abstract: |
A desktop assessment found that the area of the site was likely to have been in woodland until the late Saxon period and the open fields until the later post-medieval period, and therefore the impact on the buried archaeological deposits prior to this time was likely to have been minimal. Since the modern period the site appeared to have been used recreationally as a sports ground with surrounding land put to similar use and also as allotments. [Au(abr)] |
