Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during excavations for the construction of a swimming pool within Bampton, a town which was an important centre in early medieval times. Romano-British features and artefacts had been recorded in the area. During the watching brief a recent stone structure, possibly part of a wall, was revealed. A ceramic drain pipe and modern pottery and glass were also found, and an undated ploughsoil was noted. [AIP] |
