Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based study, supported by fieldwalking, was undertaken along the preferred route of the A6 Rothwell and Desborough By-Pass. Ten archaeological sites were identified within a 300m-wide corridor along the route, including: a moated site and possible cemetery; a Romano-British and Saxon site; Bronze Age burials, Iron Age and Romano-British site; a crop mark enclosure and other features; prehistoric flint scatters; and an Iron Age/Romano-British pottery scatter. Further evaluation work was recommended for four of the sites lying directly along the proposed route. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} SN3990, 3991, 4210, 4249, 4250, 5875, 5970 |
