Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment established that the area of the proposed development was dominated by post-medieval period archaeology. Prior to the 18th century, there was little evidence for any activity within the area. Similarly, although some possible evidence for early medieval and medieval activity was found in the study area, the majority was found to be related to the post-medieval expansion of Leeds with particular emphasis on industry and dock related activity along the banks of the River Aire.
