Abstract: |
A rapid archaeological survey was carried out on a section of the Vallum just west of the Roman fort of Brocolita within that part of the Monument designated as Carrawburgh Roman fort and Hadrian's Wall and Vallum between the field boundary east of the fort and the field boundary west of Coventina's Well in Wall Mile 31. The survey mapped the Vallum as it traversed the upper head waters of Meggie's Dene Burn, adjacent to Coventina's Well, to record this element of the Monument in both plan and profile prior to the laying of a flagged path across this features, through an area of wet ground.
