Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of an electricity cable trench from a pair of pylons to the east of a quarry to the emergency services building on the summit of Kit Hill. Two early modern prospecting trenches pre-dating a quarry track, [?a two-phased] prospecting pit heap of possible medieval date, and a leat of between 15th and 18th century date were identified. Summit features identified included a lode-back pit, a 19th century tramway-cutting, and several overgrown dumps. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
