Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken on the reservoir and loop, in advance of any redevelopment proposals. The Ickneild Port Loop was identified as being part of the original 1766 Birmingham to Wolverhampton canal. The reservoir was constructed as part of canal alterations during 1824 by Telford. The assessment identified eight Grade II Listed Buildings and seven locally Listed Buildings within the study area. [Au(abr)] |
