Abstract: |
The evaluation was carried out to investigate the antiquity of the pond, which was thought to be a Saxon mere despite significant 20th century alterations. Two trenches were excavated, which succeeded in finding a former edge of the pond. It was deduced that the southern side of the pond was disturbed or re-excavated in the mid to late 20th century.
