Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the pipelaying works involved in the watermains replacement between Ashby-de-la-Launde and Scopwick. Two sections of the pipeway, at Heath Road, Scopwick and Springfield Estate, Scopwick, were identified as being areas of archaeological potential and a watching brief was undertaken during their excavation. Despite the archaeological potential of the two areas investigated, no evidence for the earlier occupation or land-use was identified. The results revealed only deposits of either natural/geological origin, or of obviously modern date. [Au(adp)] |
