Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken in advance of a proposed residential redevelopment. The site lay in an area of agricultural development in the medieval period, associated with Leicester Abbey which lay on the other side of the River Soar to the west. The site was then developed as first a tram and then a bus depot in the 20th century. Archaeological remains were known in the vicinity, but there was no remains recorded within the site. It was seen as likely that construction related activity on the site would have removed any archaeological remains and further evaluation or investigation was required. [Au(adp)] |
