Abstract: |
The assessment showed that although the site was occupied by a medieval building, no finds had been recovered. The site also had Anglo-Saxon connections, and later became a palace for the Archbishops of Canterbury. Further building phases were known from the rear of the site. The site was thought to have a high potential for archaeological deposits of medieval and post-medieval date, with a large amount of modern truncation expected. A building survey was also carried out as part of this assessment. [Au(abr)] |
