Abstract: |
The site lay almost entirely within the Scheduled Monument of Cricklade Town Defences, relating to the Saxon and medieval settlement of national importance. The former bank and three external ditches of the Saxon and Norman town were known to run through the site, and there was a high potential for the preservation of currently unrecorded archaeological remains of national importance.
