Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed a number of foundations and floor surfaces which appeared to correspond with some of those depicted on the First Edition Ordnace Survey Map of 1866-71, the Second Edition Map of 1898, the Third Edition Map of 1911-13 and the Ordnance Survey Map of 1953. All of the buildings appeared in the same location on each of the maps but with some alterations or modifications. Examination of the bricks associated with each of these phases and the very small quantity of late post-medieval pottery present also appeared to substantiate a 19th century date for these structures.
