Abstract: |
Core samples from two bore-holes were examined by a geoarchaeologist. Although preservation within the cores was poor, one bore-hole did produce interesting foreshore deposits between -4.14m OD and -4.40m OD. Overlying these deposits were inter-tidal sub tidal sediments. Unfortunately the sediments recovered were not well preserved in the core samples and large portions of the stratigraphic stack were not sampled. Consequently the archaeological potential of this area remained to be determined. Little further work could be undertaken on the present set of samples due to the incomplete nature of the sample site and the poor quality of sample recovery. [Au] |
